What an awesome find this piece was !
This is one I am regretfully letting go of from my own collection as I no longer have a spot for it since remodelling our laundry.
It's the perfect display piece for the farmhouse/rustic laundry. The worn timber looks great with galvanised items ...maybe a bucket or a washbowl etc....or stack it with other washboards.
This is a depression era piece and hence has been constructed from what was to hand in order to serve its purpose. The patina on this item is delightful and , although difficult to see in the photos, there is a slight hint of faded chippy green paint in the grooves on one side of the board, adding to its character, as does the years of wear and tear.
